China Bounces Back: Fashion Rides the Wave of Consumer Boom

Fashion retail sales in Asia soared in 2025 as a whole, after years of stagnation in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis. The country begins Chinese New Year celebrations tomorrow.

China is back on the international fashion map.

After five years relegated to second or third place in growth projections and business development plans, the Asian giant is once again reclaiming its position as the world’s consumer breadbasket, in the heat of the public stimuli deployed during 2025 and which are increasing during this week’s Chinese New Year celebrations.

Ralph Lauren, Canada Goose, Tapestry and Adidas are beginning to show China’s recovery in their accounts, a positive evolution that is also reflected in macro data.
